I received this today because we have a house in Florida that we are renting and it only has one lock on the front door that works. Although it is a latch, it adds another security measure. (Watch the video to hear how loud the alarm clock is.) That would be good for motels, too. UPDATE 2 MON. LATER: For some reason this alarm went off twice in the last two weeks for no reason. There was nobody at the door, it was simply turned off. This is done 3 times. The first time I think it was due to heavy rain; I assumed the rain got in the door and set off the alarm. But the last two times nothing happened and he just passed out. So I'm not sure I'll keep using it if it accidentally sets off an alarm.
