I bought this because I was originally looking for a night light for my 8 month old baby. I've been trying to get him to sleep alone in my crib for a while and found that a little trick here and there worked. I wanted something I can see if I have to go to his room when he's crying in the middle of the night and I came across this. I absolutely love this device and would recommend it to anyone looking for a different way to calm their child. It has different sounds as well as different lighting options and it even has a timer so the car doesn't have to stay active all night. I usually play a thunderstorm setting for him and have found that blue light helps him sleep through the night compared to other available ones. I can say that since I added this he sleeps better even in his sleep! You have the option to use it with no light and just sound, making it great for a daytime nap. You can use a wall charger or anything that allows you to use a USB adapter. In our case, I use the USB adapter that is on the back of his TV in his room to power this device. Your device needs to be on for it to work, so keep that in mind. For example, I turn on the TV to a dark picture and then turn on the car and set the sound and lights. A small remote control is included for adjusting the sound, volume, lighting and timer. The remote control requires AAA batteries. You can still use the device without the remote control, but without it you can only make basic settings. Can't recommend it enough, especially for the price. You will not regret this purchase.
