Review on ๐Ÿ’ป Targus AWE55US Portable Lightweight Chill Mat Lap: Dual Fans, Overheating Prevention, LED USB, Laptop Cooling Pad, Black/Gray by John Floyd

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It's a good machine, not perfect, but it does what it's supposed to do.

This laptop cooler is pretty good. Overall it's durable, the fabric has neoprene softness, and it's lightweight (no point adding it to a laptop). I was a little apprehensive at first, but when I first used it I was pleasantly surprised. This made a big difference in the laptop temperature. I have one of these gaming laptops because it has the high specs I want, but it's not expensive to buy. The only reason I give it 4 stars is the rubber pads that hold the laptop above the grid surface. Yes, they allow airflow from the fans, but the rubber is small and the laptop can slip, especially if you're holding both laptops on your lap and your knees are higher than your hips. I know most people won't do this, so it's probably not a problem, but I've noticed my large laptop slipping a bit. The cooling pad actually looks like a large folder that doesn't expose the fans plugged into your USB port and powered by your laptop. So if you are running on battery, it may run a little faster. Laptops that run on battery are usually slowed down to save money, so heat may not be an issue unless you set your laptop to run fully on battery as well. The cooling pad can also be used to tilt the laptop on the table, which is a nice perk. It's not configurable, but it's not exactly desktop-friendly. I would like to add more fans or increase the existing one, but I don't see how that can happen with this device. It would also be nice to be able to plug it into an outlet so I don't use a battery. The bottom line is I would buy it again, I bet it worked exactly as advertised and I would recommend it to anyone with a laptop on their lap and it will keep you warm.
