(hdcp 11, driver 220250, small draw) I am working on my next golf ball and have chosen Vice branded balls for price and performance. There are many options, but based on performance metrics, the Pro and Tour versions were chosen for testing. I liked Pro! The urethane finish is firm but has a springy soft feel comparable to the Gamer, although the Gamer should be softer at around 77 compression. I think Vice Pro is 85 or 90. The numbers are great too: low driver rotation, high iron and wedge rotation. It really does feel like it's being "cut" with a wedge when you bump into it. Although the cut is literal if you drive it more than 40 meters. But why try Tour when Pro works so well? The price difference is significant: $10 per box or $9 if you buy 5 boxes from the manufacturer's website. Let's get back to the tour version, the title of which is actually a contradiction in terms. I think these are correct numbers based on my experience. The big downside is the feel of this ball. If it cracks it falls like hitting a hard shell, almost like an eggshell except it doesn't crack. But the ball holds the green when hooked and I can't tell any difference in spin between the Tour and Pro versions. So. I'll be deciding on a few boxes on tour before deciding what to use for the next few years. Well, if money weren't an issue I would definitely go with a Pro, but I'm cheap and I play often. And I'm not the type to set out to find headstrong drive. After one played round, the Vice Tour performed just as well as the Vice Pro, but the solid contact is evident. If that suits you or you really like it, then this ball is great. I've always played with a softer ball, but this change didn't affect my score negatively, so testing will continue.
