They don't appear to have an insole, just fabric sewn over a rubber sole. You can even feel the small grooves of the rubber outsole on the insole on the sole of the foot. Oddly enough, these sneakers are still quite comfortable. The shoes are tight enough on the foot. When I saw them in the box I thought they were too small for me. You have no language. The top of the foot is a single piece of thick neoprene fabric. It takes some effort to get your foot into the shoe, but there's a large toe loop to help you gain leverage. I would not recommend this type of shoe for people with a high instep or wide feet. This shoe fits like a glove with no slack, again a different fit but I find it quite comfortable!
