When I was a teenager I bought this straightener from a local pharmacy and I liked the thick plates. I'm happy to report that this hair straightener hasn't changed. My hair isn't necessarily thick, but there is a lot of it and it's about shoulder length. He also has a wave. It takes me about 10 minutes to thoroughly straighten my hair after blow drying it fully. I wouldn't recommend this if you're trying to get back to your roots. The only problem is that it creaks when pressed, I just don't pay attention to it. I don't expect this straightener to last as long as my smaller and more expensive ones, but so far it gets the job done quickly.
