They are advertised as grocery bags and I believe if you are buying fruit and veg in bulk for yourself and maybe someone else they will do the trick. If you're buying for a family (read: wholesale), it probably won't fit because the bag isn't big enough. You will need a lot of pockets. The opening of the case is large enough to fit comfortably in a hand holding something like a large orange or Fuji apple. You can't get melons, salad and the like there. The shelf life of corn depends on whether you are cleaning the corn in the shop or at home. However, you *shouldn't* use them for production. There are many other good uses for these bags and I have used them for other purposes. They are great for storing loose items (building blocks, stuffed animals, socks, even paperbacks). I like that they are easy to clean. Being cotton, they wrinkle a lot and need to be ironed. The bags we received after washing were smaller than advertised and an inch shorter in each dimension.
