Review on Saddlemen 3515 0075 Deluxe Roll Bag by Zack Frazier

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Nice looking feature.

I give this bag five stars because it exceeded all of my expectations. I've been using this bag for several weeks now and these are my observations. First, this is a beautiful bag. It seems well done. Good quality zips and a couple of D-rings to attach things to the bag and it keeps its shape even when empty. I don't have a sissy bar or rack so I was a little apprehensive about mounting it on my bike. No mistake. The included straps work very well and give the bag a nice clean look. I have a handrail on the seat, but I think I could come up with something without one. You have several options. Storage: I would call this a day bag or a lightweight holdall. It would be more than sufficient as a sports bag and the straps make it very easy to remove it from the bike. Maybe too easy lol. So I bought a retractable cable lock. It only takes a minute to attach the bag by threading the cable through a ring or two and attaching it to a rail or frame. This preserves the honesty of most honest people. Convenient storage They have an expandable main compartment and two smaller side compartments. All three have pockets to keep things organized. The side compartments are not big, but you can store and organize many small things. For example, I put two cell phones in a side pocket. a wallet, a small flashlight, several keys, a multifunctional leather tool, a cable lock, insurance and registration cards, and an instruction manual. There is a large mesh pocket in the main compartment to store your raincoat, but you can also stash a few other items in it without taking up the storage space in the main compartment. The main storage compartment, when not expanded, has room for a light jacket or hoodie, a large half helmet, sunglasses and gloves, as well as storage for a few small items here and there. It will hold up longer as it expands, but that's my only criticism. Even in expanded form you are limited by what can fit through the opening of the bag. So you'll fit six pairs of shoes or twenty beer cans, but you probably won't fit your full helmet. If they designed the bag so that you can access the main compartment from the side, it would be better. That means I'm very happy with the bag. It looks good on my bike. It seems good value for the money, and if you need to carry a heavy jacket or sleeping bag, there are a couple of D-rings and other places to attach a cargo net or bungee cords.
