Netgear Customer/Tech Support is a SCAM. No help but lots of lies to distract customers.

I can't think of better customer/technical support from any company, whether domestic or international. I called at least 5 times because my 3 month old C7100V dropped internet connection and lost gateway settings several times a day. Each time I had a different person and each time I had the exact same symptoms as Gateway. Surprisingly, each person gave completely different explanations as to why and what I needed to do to fix the situation. In each case, the action items required my ISP (Comcast/Xfinity) to perform an action that Netgear was unable to perform. Comcast was contacted to no avail as they claim the issues Netgear was talking about were unavailable or out of their control. Comcast offered to loan me a modem just to see if the problem was with the Comcast service or the Netgear hardware. Long story short, the Comcast gateway fixed the connection issues I was having with the Negear gateway. However, when I contacted Netgear again, I was told there was nothing they could or wouldn't do and they unilaterally closed the case number with no discussion. At the moment the Netgear C7100V is completely useless as there is no specified path for Netgear. Good HORIE! UPDATE 02/10/2019: Read more about the Motorola MT7711. Look for ASIN: B07GX2ZQXG This is a reliable performer with much better reviews. Setup is very easy and customer service is based in the USA.
