Before I was going to gift these, I wanted to check them out. They are okay. My hot water heater is on the other side of the house so I can put one in until the water comes to temp and the room is smelling good before I get there. I have tried three scents so far of which one I liked. Hoping to like the others. Smell is subjective so don't take my word for it on that. You can move it around as needed to dissolve. The instructions say to rinse afterwards in case you have staining but I have a colorful darker floor on my shower so I wouldn't see if it stained. The smell gets kind of lost in my soap and shampooing but it lasts a bit even when I'm done showering. It's a cute gift if giving a spa or self care basket.
