I bought the 7/18 unit to move my PS4 from horizontal storage to vertical next to the TV due to heat issues. So far, the device has helped reduce the speed of the CPU fan as the device is now in a much cooler location. So mechanically it's good (although I'm sure just moving the box off the bottom and laying it horizontally would have the same effect as I never use the box's extra fans due to how loud they are). My main reason for purchasing the device was the advertised ability to charge controllers simply by plugging them into their memory. However, the top-up only lasted about a month and then stopped. I'm not sure what the problem is, but it's not human error as I ruled it out by asking a couple of experienced gamers (my kid's "colleagues") to place the controllers on the forms. Somehow there is a short in the block that prevents the controllers from charging. Overall, I would advise against a purchase as the device seems cheap and short-lived. The benefit of going from the horizontal to the vertical can be solved much more easily and cheaply. If you're looking for the benefits of conveniently charging your controllers, I'd look elsewhere. So overall I'd give it 2 stars as I rate charging much higher than usability or temperature control as the former just isn't an issue and the latter is basic physics and has little to do with the extra fans on offer (which are too noisy enough to run around, at least in my house).
