An Excellent Choice for a Compact Bag

The Mancro laptop backpack is an excellent choice for those who need a compact, but very versatile backpack that has a modest and stylish look.I have made two groups of various criteria to review the backpack on.1. general criteria of the backpack versus possible competition.2. claims/strengths the producer of the backpack has made.Note: I am reviewing the "02-Black” color backpack as listed on Best Buy.General Backpack CriteriaValue: At $30 the Mancro bag is excellently priced for comfortable, versatile, sturdy, and visually appealing bag. Many name brands that offer similar qualities are priced at $40 dollars and above.Style: The Mancro bag has a very continuous finish without as many external compartments or zippers as some name brands like Swiss. This gives it a somewhat unobtrusive and sleek look that is versatile with relaxed or more formal clothing.Storage: The backpack is not a travel bag for large loads. It is excellent at carrying a laptop with multiple binders for school or many folders and other items for a work day. It is also lightweight with strong side pouches for water bottles that could make it useful for outdoor use.Mancro StrengthsMulti Compartment and Pockets: The bag has a great variety of pockets that could easily allow one to organize their contents in various ways. Despite not being the ideal backpack for lugging around 4-5 textbook sized items the backpack remains spacious and very ideal for moderate loads. One can also store two water bottles on side pouches of a full or empty bag.Water Repellent: The bag does appear to perform very well in rain. Despite spending up to 15 minutes walking in moderate rainfall all contents were completely dry.USB Charging Port and Other Equipment: The backpack has multiple interesting technological items that can be of convenience to the wearer like a USB port that would allow a battery placed by the user into the backpack to charge their phone as they walk. Even if a customer has little use for these items they are very unobtrusive when using the backpack without these functions.Rugged Handle: The handle and the straps of the backpack are have cushioning and mesh material inside of them. This makes it extremely comfortable and even somewhat breathable to lessen any sweating. This is a surprising attention to detail for comfort. Also in approximately 4 months of daily use there is no visible fraying in any straps or handles of the backpack indicating that rugged is an accurate descriptor.

Pros
  • USB charging port allows for convenient charging on-the-go
Cons
  • The backpack may be too heavy to carry comfortably
