Despite mediocre reviews, I bought them in a package because of the low price. As a new mom, I thought it would be great if they had a waterproof (plastic) layer - overestimating the amount in individual urine and underestimating the frequency of messes and the value of light laundry. Pros: Totally waterproof, cheap Cons: - Too small - since birth my son could easily throw his poop well over it when blowing, so I had to wash the changing pad cover too, which ruined the whole point. - Cannot go in the dryer (although they should be washed more often) - Cloth side was very scratchy after one wash I now use pre-folded cloth nappies instead - even cheaper! - which are larger and softer and do not require special washing. My baby much prefers lying on soft cotton pre-folds. While it's an incredible writer, the pre-creases keep it from getting wet, so I've had to wash the spare pad far less often. I gave it two stars because it says so and maybe I'll find another use for it - the world's smallest picnic?
