I love this jacket but have to admit I expected it to be warmer judging by the product description which advertises 'maximum warmth' and classifies the garment as winter clothing. Hmm, I don't think so. It was about fifty degrees Fahrenheit in New York today, and this jacket, which doesn't appear to have an insulating lining, barely kept me warm with just a shirt underneath. So I doubt you'll be comfortable wearing this jacket in 40 degree weather unless you're wearing thermals or a heavy flannel shirt with a vest underneath. Mind you, if you run in cold weather and sweat, this jacket might keep you warm (but your effort will do most of the work!). elected is pretty boring. At least I think it won't show dirt. I also like the three outside pockets with zips and two more inside pockets without zips. So it's a good jacket, but it's more suited to fall and spring than winter.
