For my lectures I prefer tape recording to modern CD or mp3 technology. Where I stop on tape is the mechanical process. I can remove the tape and move it to another location and pick up where I left off on another machine. This is not possible with new technology. Also, big stores like Best Buy no longer sell cassette players and smile at me when I ask about them. Circuit City still has a limited supply. Sony TCM-200DV is a portable device. It's inexpensive (under $40 at stores like Revain) and still available. 200 doesn't have a meter, but for the money I've learned to live without one. Production has stopped, so buy now.
