Review on πŸ”Œ ASUS PCE-AX3000 WiFi 6 Adapter with 2 External Antennas – 3000Mbps Data Rate, Bluetooth 5.0, WPA3 Security, OFDMA & MU-MIMO by Shannon Taylor

Revainrating 5 out of 5

But it works. suitable for computers and accessories

so I bought an ax5700 modem (which has two Aimesh nodes so a solid connection throughout the house) and figured I might as well get an ax3000 WiFi card since the current router, the I just bought it, has a lot of problems and a huge slowdown on the wireless adapter I've been using (high ping and speed everywhere). the installation was easy and quick with no problems. but I decided to take it without a cooler and an external adapter. learn from my mistake and pay for a version with external magnetic base antenna. Honestly 160MHz is useless and this is a common problem on the support sites for all these Intel Ax200 cards. I'm 5 feet from the router through the wall and the 160MHz broadband is not stable, going from 2402 to 2Mbps in seconds, even with an external antenna after purchase. When I use the 80MHz band I get a solid 1201Mbps. It works. but not at high speeds as it suggests. Bluetooth works with no issues, but I don't like that you have to plug in a USB cable for it to work (not mentioned on the website or in the box and it uses all my motherboard connectors). This is recommended if you need an ax card, but if it's an upgrade to an existing working AC card, just wait. 5/19/21 ***Update*** There have been several Intel driver updates that have significantly improved the 160MHz band. and Bluetooth stability and performance. I can now recommend this card and update my rating for anyone looking for AX 2402Mbps coverage and speed.

Pros
  • Next generation WLAN standard - WLAN 6 standard (802.11ax) for improved efficiency and throughput.
Cons
  • Very expensive
