We had a collision when part of the impact hit this product. We had a brand new baby in the car with us and it was scary! We believe fitting it to our vehicle contributed to the amount of damage our SUV sustained. From now on we will always have something like this. We originally bought it for our kids so they could easily get into our SUV. It wasn't until we got back that we realized the safety aspect of this item.
