This iPad case looks and feels good. It is durable and protects your iPad. I bought this for myself, not for a child, I'm 55 years old and have serious nerve problems which is why I often drop things. It will protect my new iPad well. What's really bad about this case is the kickstand. It's very difficult to lock in place, yes, you can only tilt it with each rotation. Once it snaps into place, you have to press down on a small piece of plastic to release the stand and fold it up. To play apps that require a portrait orientation in bed you'll need to put something solid under the stand as it just falls off rather than landscape. Rotating the stand is very difficult and you have to pull hard on the footrest and it locks into place with every rotation. So if you're trying to be quiet at night while your spouse is sleeping, forget it. It only turns in one direction. So if you want to go 2 positions to the right, forget it, you have to go 6 positions to the left! Click-click-click. with nerves in hand it's just awful. I would return the lid but now there is no such durable one with rubber, my old iPad had a full rubber lid with a round stand that moved quietly and easily, sigh.
