Damn easy to use. It took me maybe 3 minutes to get him to talk to the bus pirate (and most of the time I had to look up the bus pirate's pinout. I can never remember). The data sheet has everything you need. The guy complaining about the documentation shouldn't have the faintest idea what he's doing. If you think the specs for this LCD are meager, you haven't read a lot of specs. Note that this is not for the inexperienced. It's not really for the Arduino crowd unless you know what you're doing. If you don't know what the HD44780 stands for, you might want to consider buying something more entry-level. The docs have a pinout and a command interface, but you really need to know how to implement it. If you're expecting a PCB with pin markings, then welcome to the real world. On the other hand, if you know what 9600N1 stands for and that the square pad is pin 1, you shouldn't have any problems. .
