Review on πŸͺ’ Ultra-Durable 1000 Foot Black Parachute Cord Paracord: Type III Military Specification 550 by John Jones

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Strike 3, NOT Type III, Milspec 550 Paracord

This is my second order from Revain trying to get Milspec Type III Paracord and still no joy. Although the quality of this order was better than my first order, I still have not received what is for sale. This order came from Love It Enterprises, LLC and was filled by Revain, so I'm not exactly sure who is responsible for it. for what, but reading previous reviews I had high hopes that Love it Enterprises would be a good supplier. This was not in my specific order. Upon inspecting the item I received, I immediately noticed that the cord appeared to be thinner than what I'm used to from a former US paratrooper. I also noticed that the cores of the inner gut appear to be twisted unevenly, causing the outer nylon sheath to feel uneven and smell like poor quality control. Undeniable evidence that it is not a Type III parachute cord is found in the inner cores of the gut. Although there are 7 inner strands, the strands only have two twisted pairs of fibers and not three as Type III line should be. The two twisted strands would indicate a commercial cord and also explain why the diameter was smaller than what I'm used to. different products for sale than what they actually sell but as a consumer I find that very disappointing. Update May 28, 2014: This time I placed another order with OutdoorBunker and the item I received this time was also NOT a Milspec Type III 550 Paracord but a Commercial Type Paracord. Don't be fooled or misled by a cord just because it has 7 inner strands. If those inner strands are two strands twisted together, then it's commercial paracord with no standardized manufacturing specs and probably only rated at around 350 pounds working load, but since there's no standard for commercial cord, who really knows what that working load is load? resilience is. Type III Milspec Paracord has a standard of 7 or more internal strands, each consisting of three twisted strands rated at a minimum of 550 pounds, which is why parachute cords are commonly referred to as 550 cords. Suppliers must STOP misrepresenting the products they are selling. If you are selling "commercial" paracord, present it this way, omit words like "550", "milspec (military specification)", "Type III", "Type 3", or "Parachute" away. The inclusion of these words in a paracord type sales pitch is either a sign of ignorance or a hideous misrepresentation aimed at less informed end users.
