Let's start by saying that it lived up to expectations, it's an air cooling fan, not an air conditioner. For those expecting $50 for a mini air conditioner, that's unrealistic given today's economy, technology, demand and the cost consumers are willing to pay. If it was an air conditioner, I'd probably spend $150 for a portable unit of this size that could supply air at the air conditioner temperature from its own battery, and somehow they could have figured out a way to generate enough electricity to run the unit and only use USB for charging. However, this air cooling fan is simple technology... it's a defogger. This is a multi-function defog fan. BENEFITS: It can fit more ice in its compartment, more ice = cooler fog. I also like that it refills on top of the device and has a carrying strap. The 4200 mAh battery is enough for charging via USB. cooler than running at high power. Fog can be turned on/off. The swing function can come in handy to keep my tent cool when I go camping. If you don't need the features listed above, just get a regular handheld dehumidifying fan. You can get one with a 2000mAh battery for $20. It is much bulkier than a manual defog fan. Not very cold, took this campsite and unfortunately a basic 7" portable blade fan was much colder than this one with ice. The fan is weaker than my portable fan. TIPS. Just load it with ice and if you can, freeze it and use big chunks of ice. First add some water, the ice will start to melt and the fog will stay cool longer. If you add more water, the ice will melt faster and the temperature of the mist will not be so cold. Wet and freeze the filter article, which they call a "water-absorbing curtain", before use. Overall I would not recommend this product.
