The item is defective. See fig. The magnetic plate is attached to the sliding plastic part with 2 screws. The plastic around the screws broke. I'm not happy with that at all. A month of a few dozen beats a day should not cause such a breakdown. I love this product and other than that it has the benefits. 10/30/21 Returned the original product and tried another and got the same error. The manufacturer describes the defective component as a high-velocity projectile. The protrusions for the small screws are obviously not strong enough and the impact will cause them to fail. Poor design and insufficient strength testing. As a design engineer, I know there are many ways to prevent breakage. Through bolts with countersunk nuts on the opposite end would work. Too bad everything was great while it lasted. For me there is no exchange anymore. i just want my money back
