Hikers in National and Private Parks - Summer 2020

Tried them in the following areas: Kayaking at Lake Powell, Lake Antelope Canyon Hike, Arches Hike (Double Arch and Graceful Arch - Moab, Utah), Bryce Canyon and Zion National Park (Angel's Landing). We did 1100 miles and several 6 hour hikes in 7 days. For comparison, I weigh about 110 pounds, 5 feet 3 inches and wear a size 5.5 to 6.5 depending on the shoe. I chose the green pair in size 6. Here are the pros and cons: ProsFit as expected (even with hallux valgus). on big toe of right foot that hurts from rubbing) Didn't hit bursitis and was able to climb to 7000 feet. 30s Easy to clean Good grip for vertical climbing and flat surfaces (cement) Price - great for this type of shoe compared to others Minus Lots of sand when walking and it was frustrating when the sand got between the toes and underfoot Dirt from impact of the strap through the ankle is something you need to work with as it can be annoying if they don't fit properly. Bulky to pack. Overall these shoes have endured several intense hikes and I have heavy feet. They worked very well and I will wear them again. I can try them with socks. because the sand is heavy and red - my feet were very muddy after walking in Arches and Zion national parks. This is the only reason for 4 out of 5 stars. One final note: I haven't tried them on water hikes - if I go through tight spots I'll provide an update as I'm curious how they handle moisture and if it affects skin.
