We tried this with my son who was 1 year old, he definitely wasn't ready as he almost fell over and hit his head. We've just tried again for 15 months and it's done! He knows how to sit on it instead of standing on it and doesn't put pressure on his back like it used to, so it's a lot safer now. Only when falling does he continue to find those ropes and fabrics that can choke! I checked the chair when we first received it. I didn't notice and checked again after 15 months. I have no idea where he gets these details from? So if you CAREFULLY supervise your child with this chair it will be safe most of the time, but I wouldn't leave your child alone with this when they are about my son's age. HOWEVER, he LOVES to sit in it and watch Daniel Tiger!
