My son is 4 years old and doesn't like water on his face yet, but is learning to deal with it a little better. We've used this hat a lot over the past few months. I use it when I wash and shampoo my hair. Several times the hat actually slipped because the water pouring on his head was too heavy. This caused my son to panic as the sides of the water hit his face after the hat slipped off. He didn't trust the hat after that, so he kept still as I washed his head to avoid slipping. It made our hair washing so much more enjoyable because he stands still so I can wash his head with a hat instead of holding him kicking and screaming so I can pour water over his head to wash off the shampoo.
