I have an RV at a fixed location. Thus, it does not have the advantage that when driving on the road, the contents of the black reservoir will splash around, aiding in the movement and destruction of the contents. I drain the tank once a week when in use. Then I add one scoop of RV Digest-It to about ten gallons of fresh water to create a "cushion" and prevent the dreaded "food pyramid" from forming. I installed a transparent outlet on the waste pipe to control the waste water when emptying the tank. I don't see any particles coming out; only "black" water. The thing really works! If you have a camper set up in a park or other permanent/semi-permanent location, I highly recommend using it regularly to save yourself the headache of a clogged black reservoir.
