This stuff is so great! Why would anyone use duct tape again after using gaffer tape? My friend turned me on to this tape when I was re-doing some work that used a lot of white duct tape. The duct tape was a pain to remove, sticky, yet clearly didn't hold very well since it was peeling off in several places. It's also bright and shiny, distinctive looking, with grimy black residue at the edges and anywhere it might have started peeling off.Gaffer tape is smooth, goes on easily, tears easily, and doesn't leave gross sticky residue. I haven't had the chance to find out for myself but I have heard that it also tolerates higher temperatures than duct tape. I really like the texture and matte appearance that it leaves, bringing a cleaner and more trim appearance to my project.If it really does hold up to the higher temperatures as I'm told then I will definitely never be buying another roll of duct tape in my life!
