I have injured my meniscus several times and each time it has taken me months to recover. Last time I was very concerned as I had pain/swelling and heard a crunch when using the steps. After healing I bought them and they made a 1000% difference. Not only do they provide excellent support to prevent injury (with the right form, of course), but they also allow me to press/squat with more weight because I have extra support. The long length allows you to wrap multiple times above and below the knee for maximum support. I've been wearing them for a while now and they are still stretchy. I wrap them around my knees before each set and take them off after each set. Some people stretch and fold them so they just have to roll them around their knees, but constant tension on the elastic shortens the life of your knee pads.
