Advantages: easy to use, children can not turn it on accidentally and drop things, not afraid of overheating, cross sections. Doesn't take up much space. Got it for shredder exams so it does exactly what I need it to do. Cons: very heavy. I'm not sure why they don't just tweak the design to fix it. If you don't hold it with your other hand, it will fall and you will likely run out of leverage. You need two hands. Small, for letter size paper you need to fold it in half. Luckily I didn't buy it for that. Haven't tried the credit card slot and don't plan on doing so any time soon. The instructions are in 日本語, but honestly you don't need instructions.
