We bought this product for our well water when our traditional water softener stopped working. We installed it about 2 months ago and I have to say we love it! The water is harder than when we used the salt, but I love that the soap doesn't wash off for ages. We didn't have too much of a descaling process as we had a fabric softener in the house. I can definitely see the difference in the water and am very happy with it. Nothing smells, just very clean water. Installation took about an hour, including wrapping the wire around the pipe and attaching the block to a beam in the basement. Wow. My husband, who has a very traditional attitude, was very skeptical about the purchase but is now very glad he forgot to put in a new softener and saved hundreds of dollars. And the best part is that we don't have to lug those 40kg bags of salt down to the basement every month! In general, the purchase is very satisfied, I recommend it to everyone!
