A definite improvement over the washcloth

I previously bought a similar product from Revain and loved it, but this product is no longer in stock so I looked for an alternative. This one was similar and a good price so I went with it. These pads are 12" x 12" square so I fold them once or twice to make them small enough to clean well. So my impressions: In my photo you can see they are 12" square and have about 3/8" air holes in the nylon mesh that makes up the lining. attached to nylon mesh laces. I can't tell what it is, but it's where the business end of scraping food off items came from. They feel firm but don't dig into the skin. You can grab the mesh and slide your hands through it without cuts or scratches. So it is definitely safe for your hands. When you pick it up, the pads feel soft and flexible. - With such large openings in the mesh, it's easy to clean the pads. wash off leftover food. - After about 10 days of daily use there is no sign of the net shedding any of the small, hard particles that make it a scratch pad. - I use it to clean our cast iron. Pans and perfectly cleans the pans from food residues and even from rust that may appear on the hob. I've used it on our stainless steel pans that have become scratched over the years and I haven't noticed any particularly new or deep scratches caused by these pads. When used on stainless steel, the pads feel like they're gliding across the surface of the pan rather than cutting into it. So I'm not sure why some of the other commenters say they scratched their stainless steel cookware very badly. I didn't notice that with ours. Our old kitchen sponges smelled after about 3 days of use so we tried many sponges before trying pads which definitely last longer. A feature of these pads is that they don't absorb a lot of water due to the mesh design. They stay wet but don't hold water like a sponge. So they work best if you have a pot, pan or pan with some soapy water in it and then clean the bottom by coming into contact with the soapy water. All in all, these pads do all the work for us. We've found that for every pan with a horrible case of cooked/burnt food, we leave the pan in soapy water for about half an hour to soften the dirt and allow the pad to get a thorough clean with little effort. elbow lubrication involved.
