Slim and thin. I bought a 48" for my US, it will be over 48" with feet so keep that in mind if you are considering buying one for your tank size. The controls are easy to use, bright and dimmable, it toggles to a high level and then back to the lowest level. There doesn't appear to be any up and down brightness adjustment. Turn on the power and you get full light. Color coding of the timer, e.g. B. 4 is orange, 8 is green and 12 is red. Lighting settings by pressing the cycle button. There are 3 settings: Full, Red, Blue off or Moonlight. I would recommend this for cichlids or fish that don't like bright light but not for plants, too dark for plants. The image looks bright, but it isn't.
