I've never had a problem with rust on speaker wire ends; So I never used speaker wire clamps or banana plugs. However, for some odd reason, I started getting rust on the wire ends of my outdoor speakers, to the point where the wire was detaching from the connection to the speaker. I still don't understand why this is happening lately. I suspect this was because I had the cables disconnected from the speaker for a period of time due to speaker maintenance or poor cable quality. To avoid repeating this problem, I plugged in these banana plugs and the difference in sound improvement was immediately noticeable. As can be seen in the picture, I also use glass silicone so that the cable lugs no longer rust. I am so pleased with this product that I have ordered more plugs for my internal speakers.
