I had the necessary tools, but it turned out that some of the screws were difficult to access, so I couldn't use the spare screwdriver I had and had to buy a full, thinner specialty screwdriver. You're basically disassembling the whole ball. Dyson should definitely make replacement easier, as the breakable clip is fully visible without disassembly.
