I usually make and sell 150-200 greeting cards a year and I love to emboss the background and then color them in so that the relief is created pattern is noticeable. I tried all kinds of ink pads until I finally found this Jim Holtz Vintage Distress Ink Pad. It's advertised as producing a "distressed look on paper, fiber, photos and more" which wasn't exactly what I was looking for. But it also works really well for coloring in a raised pattern after I've run my card stock through my Cuttlebug with an embossing folder. Please see the customer image for the condolence card which I embossed with an autumn themed binder and then colored with distress ink using a vintage photo print. The only downside to using this distress ink pad is that it takes a few minutes to dry. The color of a vintage photo will appear dark brown on almost any color of card stock.
