Review on πŸ’Ύ 2TB WD My Passport for Mac Portable External Hard Drive with USB-A Compatibility by Nick Tucker

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Plug in and go!

If you don't read otherwise, you can download the user manual here: wd.com/docs (I read it in the fine print in the materials that came with the drive) I've waited WAY too long to back up my Macs. I remember reformatting drives in the past and it wasn't fun. I chose the 4TB version of this drive and gave it a try. I knew the first backup would take some time, so that wasn't a problem. What I liked was that I could connect and the time machine would open up immediately to start the backup. I just waited for it to start and then left. I use this now as a time machine for two different Macs. After backing up two computers, I still have 3.65 TB out of 4 TB free. I thought about getting 2TB, but now I'm glad I didn't. I bought the $9.99 warranty through Revain just because it includes data recovery (it's not clear if there will be a WD warranty). I expect it to stop working one day, but I think it's the best device I've reviewed. I hope you never need guarantees, but I'm glad they are. I would understand that you even have ONE Mac device. I don't feel the need to back up my Android phone as I have photos on Google and many of my other files are backed up on Google Drive. Finally, I stored them in an old external hard drive enclosure. It is very small so it can be neatly hidden on a bookshelf. You've probably heard the importance of being careful when driving. Hope this works for you!
