I started an upgrade a while back and put together a PC in an itx case, and as a result, I sold my beloved sound system, the Asus Xonar Essence ST. I've never considered myself an audiophile, but I know a poor sound when I hear one. Thus, I had a really difficult time making that choice. I hoped the new mother's ALC1220 chip wouldn't disappoint us down. didn't let me down. The quality is excellent. for an integrated chip. But, each time I persuaded myself that this is not life without a typical sound system, I was listening to music on a functioning PC (where Xonar crawled). I started looking for external sound with a humane price and great quality as a consequence. The SB G6 was discovered here. I went ahead and bought it without thinking twice. Well . Indeed, this is what I desired and what I missed after the asus. The audio quality is excellent! (My ears are Audio-Technica AD700 models.) There is just nothing more to say; it would be preferable to discuss the nuances, both evident and subtle: Software only available under Windows for configuration. In MacOS, though (I also have an iMac), it may be fully utilized. Even when the sound card is off, enhanced Windows settings (such as equalizers and sound virtualization) are perfectly saved in memory and can be switched by pressing the SBX button on the case. Up to 48 kHz of sampling frequency can be used. The Audio-MIDI Setup application on a Mac can be used to activate direct mode. There are available frequencies up to 384 kHz (24 or 32 bits). Although disabled, the SBX settings are not reset. They are always reversible. Backlight: The side buttons and indicators are always on, however the top (X) button and volume control can be turned off using a Windows application. In Windows or MacOS, the card does not shut off while it is in sleep mode (S3). The Lights don't go away. Scripts will be required to disable the USB port's power. It warms up slowly, but it also warms up while it is in sleep mode. The volume control is somewhat misaligned. Just being disrespectful to clients. However, because it is still digital, software can also be used to change the loudness. My hand did not raise when I wanted to wager 4. Nonetheless, some purchase these items for the sound. And look at him now on 5+.
