Review on High Mount Spare Tire Carrier - Extreme Max 3001.0064 by Dee Rawls

The best trailer spare tire mount I have found

This is a fantastic spare tire mount. Its components are solid and the construction is perfect for my fishing boat trailer (the trailer is 18.5 feet long and the boat is 16 feet long). on the ramp. He had such a mount, which consisted of only two threaded brackets. This means the tire was mounted centrally on its trailer frame; too low for my comfort. So I wanted something that would allow the tire to be mounted higher and far enough away from the hull of the boat. I have reviewed different types of spare tire mounts and found this to be the best designed product. It lifts the tire a few inches and moves it far away from the hull when I'm trying to transport my boat. Sure, that's what the hole was for. Instead, I decided to use a bike cable lock to secure the spare tire to the trailer frame. I made a change to this item. If you look at the product image, you will see two holes on the top of the trailer frame mounting bracket, which are the main bolt holes. This caused the mount to hang about two inches lower than I wanted. So I measured the screws from the bottom holes and drilled two new top holes that were slightly lower than the original top holes. This has raised the build to a level that I believe eliminates any possibility of the spare tire rubbing when starting the boat. I am very happy with this product and would recommend it to anyone who has 14 inch or smaller spare tires for their boat trailer. It may be suitable for big tires but I haven't tried it.
