Review on 💾 Seagate 4TB BarraCuda Internal Hard Drive - 3.5 Inch SATA 6Gb/s, 5400 RPM, 256MB Cache for Computer Desktop, PC, Laptop (ST4000DM004) by Zack Frazier

Large cache size makes these drives good despite low platter speeds. I've used four of these in a ZFS raid NAS backup device over the past two years with NO PROBLEM. I have two others on memory desktops that also had no problems. Arriving in DOA depends on both your courier/delivery company and Seagate's manufacturing. In the wrapped form, a blow to the side or bottom of the carton is easily absorbed. Any hits in the corners of the diagonal vectors transfer the hit to the drive. There's not much you can do about it other than pack them in inches of crumbly popcorn. And delivery services are also not stable. Don't worry about Revain's generous return policy. In the mid 2000's I sent a smaller hard drive back to Seagate for warranty service, which was slow and painful, but what's the matter? In exchange, I received a refurbished drive that worked until years later when I replaced it with a larger drive. These are great drives for the price and I would definitely add them to a raid array.
