At first I was a little confused by how rubbery the material was. It looks like a tree if you don't look closely. Overall I'm very happy with how it looks - I prefer it as a frame for my finished products rather than an actual embroidery frame - but it could be used if someone really wanted it for both, but I prefer more durable bamboo for actual crafting.
