I recently had to replace a 2016 MacBook Pro with a 2020 update which of course has USB-C ports and no HDMI port. Of course this is a problem as I have several plug-ins (e.g. external microphone) with USB-A connectors, so I have to buy several adapters, including one for the HDMI output. This hub solved the problem very well. beautiful and inexpensive - not much more than a single USB-A to USB-C adapter. I have used this with 2 devices connected to USB sockets as well as HDMI output at the same time. However, there are no issues at all, including HDMI, which some reviewers say they struggle with. The block isn't too big and looks sturdy - the color is pretty close to a gray Macbook. The hub is really well priced and has several other ports including one for SD cards. Recommended.
