I've been using Sofia+Sam lap tables for about 10 years now - tried them a few times with 13" MacBooks. Hence my rating Based on my experience with these portable tables, this versatile portable table has some advantages over Sofia+Sam and some disadvantages. First, what I like about it. Sophia+Sam and I can store our headphones on the mouse pad. I can put my phone on the phone stand while using my laptop. didn't use it). This lap table is very light so it doesn't add much weight to the laptop when it's on your lap. It's much lighter than my Sophia + Sam. likes and prefers Sophia + Sam. Sophia + Sam has the best design. With Sophia+Sam the edges are nicer, the top is a solid surface rather than a striped edge, the palm rest is of better quality and the foam underneath is one big solid piece rather than two sections like on this lap table. What would I finally get back? I would probably choose Sofia+Sam for the comfort of the foam and quality construction. I'm torn because I love the sheer size of this lap table and I love having the mouse pad on the surface rather than on the drawer.
