For many years I have used a very, very similar looking Panasonic HJE 120, the sound quality of which has declined recently. I was happy to find that this 125 is just as comfortable and sounds just as good as the old HJE 120 (which is still on sale). Now the 120s sound awful but these sound great. The key to optimizing the sound of these types of earphones is choosing the correct earcup size from the sizes provided. Choose the largest ear cups that fit comfortably in your ear. Ear pads that are too small do not close the ear opening tightly enough, so the bass suffers as a result. They have a clear, balanced sound that is not fatiguing, not too bright, with good low frequency response but without excessive bass.
