What could have been an amazing cordless vacuum is less durable

What could have been an amazing cordless vacuum is much less durable. Above all. For the first two months of ownership, the vacuum was excellent. This was the best cordless vacuum cleaner we have ever used. My wife vacuums at least twice a day. The only issue we had was that the suction was so strong it could suck up some of our small rugs/mats and get stuck. Luckily for that, it has an auto-off feature that prevents the problem. Well! The suction power of the cordless vacuum cleaner is great. The bin that holds the dust/dirt is amazing. I think the design of the trash can makes the suction so strong because its construction makes it almost impossible for dirt to obstruct the airflow. Everything looked great with our new Bissell (the first time we had a Bissell I took the opportunity to see how it would work with other brands). Then it hit the 2 month mark. The handle broke off with normal use as per one of the other reviews. I contacted Bissell for a replacement grip and it's been on standby for a few weeks (must be a common problem right?). Just a few days later, while waiting for the handle to be put back into storage, the vacuum stopped working. The LEDs light up, but there is no vacuum. Well, our vacuum not only had a glued handle, it wouldn't even turn on. Bissell are supplying me with a replacement vacuum and I'm hoping mine is just a non-disassembly one, but it just doesn't seem like the durability of this vacuum is given. When I was packing my vacuum to send it in for a replacement, I also noticed that there was a small melted spot behind the battery. There was also a slight bulge on the battery itself, just below the metal contacts. A bit scary as it looks like it's overheating or something. Perhaps a defective battery led to his death? Hopefully I'll come back and update my review when the new vacuum works perfectly, but at the moment I wouldn't be surprised if I had to replace it multiple times within the 1 year warranty. I think only time will tell.
