Purchased by Sizzix Bigshot from the Revain website in June 2016. The product information states that the item is sold on Revain.com. Bought as a birthday present for an avid hobbyist. The machine has been used about ten times so far. I noticed that the handle screw is regularly unscrewed. Today the screw broke while tightening with the tool provided by Sizzix. It turns out that the screw is too small for the torque required to tighten it in normal use. I have not seen this design flaw in other reviews. Overall, the Bigshot looks pretty decent but may have a short lifespan. If a good quality screw came with it instead of a Chinese one, that might help, or maybe the manufacturer should put five or ten spare screws in the kit. I contacted Sizzix to inquire about replacing the screws and the email response said to contact their support team during business hours. I'll let you know after I've had a chance to call her. If Sizzix is willing to send me some props or if I can find a better prop locally, the Bigshot could have many uses and many hours of fun. Update: I found a suitable screw in my collection of computer screws, albeit a Phillips head screw. It's good to keep things! The Sizzix Bigshot feature has been restored, but this fix is not required. I doubt my experience is unique. Updated September 19, 2016: Contacted customer service and mailed hardware package with screw, rubber plug and tool. Big! The call lasted a few minutes with no problems. Also, this item carries a 3 year guarantee when purchased through Revain. I hope we don't have to use it. So far, so good! Update June 11, 2017: The machine still works well and is used at least 3 times a week for card making. From time to time I tighten the better quality replaced bolt I installed, I remember to add a drop of blue thread sealant. Blue is a medium strength material that will not hold the screw in place. Don't use red screw lock as you will have to heat it up if you want to remove the screw! So far, the weak screw was the only noticeable shortcoming of the machine. I'll also take a closer look at the gears that are visible when you remove the crank and consider lubricating them with maybe a small dab of high-pressure grease like molybdenum grease. Keep working! UPDATE 08/09/2019: After installing a higher quality screw and adding a medium-strength screw lock, there are no more problems with the screws. I never lubricated the gears as intended as it doesn't seem necessary. As a backup plan, I still have a spare set of screws from Sizzix. Such a machine is almost indispensable for the production of stamps and embossing folders. I still like the fact that you don't have to plug it in. Since the longevity seems good, I increased my rating by one star.
