What made me spend $50 on this GoPro milestone is that it's aluminum. I'm so sick of plastic and cheap metal. I'd rather spend the money and get a product that will stand up to some abuse and that's why I chose this Smatree stick. This stick feels very professional in your hands. The rubber grip feels very nice, although I wish they had some kind of tread on it for better grip. The extended pole with a gopro on it is a good balance, not heavy at all. The aluminum screw lock is very beautiful and messy. 100x better than standard plastic, so much so that I will buy Smatree when I need a replacement. A key that fits in a screw lock is a great tool and you're wondering why gopro doesn't have one. When you tighten the setscrew with a wrench, it doesn't move a bit and can't be removed with your fingers. I feel better knowing my camera isn't moving or falling. I got this pole mainly for close up shots of snakes although I haven't tried it yet as it's not herpes season yet I take crazy selfies. with this. Great product, worth every penny.
