I didn't consider it for travel because I don't use it that way. I bought this to store my digital thermometer and accessories and it works well for that type of use. Inside there are various "compartments" formed by rubber bands that prevent objects from flying out when the suitcase is opened. The zipper seems to be of good quality with a smooth ride that doesn't close. The hard case offers some protection (but don't step on it or drive on it - it's not that durable). A good choice for applications like mine or similar.
