I made two sets and learned a few things that might be helpful. set, which is what I did. My daughter is 9 months old. I followed the instructions exactly. The sound came out smoothly, although it took some effort. I took the prints when she was awake but calm and distracted, holding the toy in her other hand. The handprint is perfect. My only mistake was holding the tone for too long before printing his name and date. It cracked a little. And I took the letters too far. I then tried smoothing out some of the flaws but the result was more cracks/wrinkles in the clay. Her footprint came out much better. I made the second set of prints individually. However, this time she was more active and curious, although I tried to distract her. Her handprint took 3 tries. Each time I managed to get the clay smooth, but on the third try it was my last chance because I noticed the clay was starting to dry and wouldn't come out smooth the fourth time. could not fully punch a hole for the tape. I tried my best but the tool didn't cut all the way through. I ended up with deep holes, but a small piece of clay was left there. I figured I could let it dry completely and then shake it out a bit. But now I'm afraid the decoration will break if I do this. We'll probably just use coasters instead of hanging them. Both sets dried for about 4 days. I wasn't aware of that when ordering. I found out when I opened them up and read the instructions. Good thing I opened them just in time to let them dry and still give them as Christmas gifts. The jewelry is very heavy. I can't imagine hanging them on my Christmas tree. Instead, they are issued. Overall I am very happy with the quality of the product and the end result. My suggestions: do one print at a time. Make an impression and stamp the letters/numbers as soon as possible because as the clay dries the stamps become less smooth. Once one print is complete, THEN proceed to open and run the second. My mistake was that I kneaded both clay balls, which made the clay stand too long and start to dry. Once the clay begins to dry, stop touching it. You're only making it worse. You have a relatively short time before the surface of the clay begins to dry out and become prone to cracking. Consider the climate you are in. I live in the desert, the air is dry, so the clay dries quickly. I'm sure your room temperature affects the tone as well. That's common sense.
