I installed a new SSD in this case and plugged it into my laptop's USB port. At first, my laptop only saw the Sabrent case, not the hard drive. USB ports changed, even tried on another computer. Same result, can't see the hard drive! I wanted to return it because I thought it was broken and I saw other reviewers had the same issue. I googled my problem and it suggested that if it's a new hard drive I need to format it first before windows can see it. So I reconnected the case and went to disk management. For Windows 10, just enter Disk Management. Google it if you have anything other than Windows 10. I found a YouTube video on how to do this. There will be a new hard drive! From there I did a quick format that only took 2 minutes. After that, my new hard drive appeared! I then used Macrium's free cloning software to clone my old hard drive to the new SSD, swapped them out and boom! All is well. However, cloning a 256 HDD to an SSD took about 3 hours. So remember, if you have a new hard drive, format it first.
