Incredible product. I am a fiber artist, I spin my yarn and sell it. This article has become invaluable to me and my business. First, it allows me to easily remove the finished yarn from the spools and return to spinning. Second, presentation is everything and this thing makes neat, eye-catching cakes that my customers love! Clients have often told me that they prefer my pre-wrapped and weighted strands to other strands. The strands are great, but this is really the way to go. I can also use it directly with my Cruise Susan without having to carry the coil, then weigh it and subtract the weight of the cone, and do it exactly like this, how I want it! It is so convenient to use that its tension is almost perfect, not too tight to lose elasticity but not too loose to not fall apart. I also love how easy these cakes are to store and how attractive they look on display. I've also been told that tortillas fit in yarn bowls and work much better in yarn bowls than skeins or other yarn designs. The tool itself is very well made and all construction is metal except for the gear guard and removable cone. It is very durable and the gears move freely. I actually had to put some oil on them when I first got them and maybe after every 5 hours of use. They don't creak and fit perfectly. My only complaint is that the screw, holding the stationary rail, digs into the countertop when you clamp the winder. To prevent this, a shield must be in place. I added a second washer and now the end of the thumbscrew is flush with the second washer and no longer scratches the countertop. I would recommend this tool to anyone spinning or processing a decent amount of yarn for any reason.
